Diversity = Resilience

Different perspectives and ways of doing things make us stronger and better equipped to deal with changes which inevitably occur.  We actively seek to build diversity into every level of our organization from producers to staff to the communities we serve.

Transparency

We know every farmer personally and visit every farm regularly to make sure our community knows exactly where each product came from and how it was grown.

Respect for Environment

We are always seeking to improve our relationship with the earth as we work towards more regenerative growing practices, compostable/reusable packaging, alternative energy sources, conservation practices and locally sourced farm inputs.

How We Began

Jenna Moore & Thanh Tran were the co-founders of the OKC Food Hub.  The organization was formed as a joint effort in 2022 as the next step in their respective local food journeys as they saw a need for convenient, local wholesale purchasing and distribution across Oklahoma.  Both of them had been active in various local food efforts for many years, and both continue to be passionately involved in supporting local food systems development across the state.

Our Team:

Jenna Moore

Jenna Moore has been working in local food systems for over a decade now from her beginnings in New Orleans to her many different positions across Oklahoma. Her passion for gardening, breadth of relationships and systems thinking approach continue to fuel her through new ideas, initiatives and approaches in the ever-changing local foodscape of Oklahoma. She is excited to continue pushing the movement forward through the OKC Food Hub.

Rachel Kretchmar

Rachel Kretchmar is a CPA, and prior to joining the Food Hub, she was a financial statement auditor, primarily working with non-profit organizations in the OKC area. Rachel is passionate about food justice and sustainable agriculture and has her financial background has been a tremendous asset to local food system development. She is thrilled to be a part of the OKC Food Hub as it continues to open new doors for both producers and consumers in our local food system.

Renaldo Lemons

Renaldo Lemons first started getting into local food systems work in 2020 when he joined an agriculture cooperative group in OKC apprenticing under a no-til farmer. From there he started his own agriculture business, has developed and taught a course in urban agriculture, and is active in networking and advocating for efforts that support local farmers and soil health work. His critical thinking skills, myriad connections and experiences have helped shape the OKC Food Hub.

Taryn DeWitt

Taryn DeWitt has a deep background in food safety and food supply chain from years of working in the produce distribution industry. She is passionate about increasing the amount of local produce moved in Oklahoma, and uses her connections, network, and industry knowledge to connect farmers to buyers and improve food safety programs for small-midsize farmers so that they are more competitive in larger markets.

The OKC Food Hub is overseen by a diverse board of directors including farmers, buyers, and local food system supporters.
